Acting for the Screen: Performance

Act. Act everywhere you can. Act for free. Be near acting. Act.” These are the sentiments of Richard Dreyfuss, an Academy Award winning actor. We as actors must work.

The third block of the Acting Program is devoted to building your performance utilizing the principles of the process that you have personalized into your approach. By using the concepts of script analysis, sense memory, emotional commitment, essence exploration and ensemble acting, we demystify the full range of the actor’s character arc.

Using these techniques to explore the script through isolating the levels of the character experience, we integrate the layers into a full-bodied performance that appears as thought it is happening in real time, because it is. The class culminates in a live performance using a film actor’s sensibility in the outward expression of their craft. We complete the process by breathing life into the heart of the actor.
